RUA has not only been an incredible resource to help improve my art, but also a community of amazing open-minded artists that genuinely want to support each other that was severely lacking in my life beforehand.
To me, Rise Up Animation is being told that the door to the industry isn’t closed to people who look like me. It’s being shown that there’s a community of people with common struggles and experiences that are all working hard to be better together.
Rise Up Animation changed my life! The feedback and guidance I received from my mentors helped me rise up and land the job I hoped for.
Rise Up Animation means evening out the playing field for someone like me. I had to sit back and watch as my peers relied on generational wealth to secure continuing education and I feel behind in my self-taught journey. RUA gave me the desperately needed opportunity to catch up.
Rise Up Animation is a bridge between worlds. Thanks to all the mentorships, webinars and interaction – I’m so grateful to say that the industry doesn’t feel as far away as it used to 🙂
RUA is like a large cup of coffee during an all nighter! The sheer talent of the community wakes me up and inspires me every single day!!
Rise Up Animation, to me, is the physical embodiment of warmth. It’s been super welcoming, positive and inspiring- from the super cool zoom talks I got to check out over the summer to the really helpful feedback sessions!
RUA for me is a second chance in life. After graduating and endless job searches, I feel like I’m floating in a black hole most of the time. But every Saturday, after the wonderful community and guest speakers share their stories, I gain the strength to face each week and keep pushing my work.
Rise Up is an inspiring community for helping bring underrepresented voices to the forefront and allow them opportunities in the entertainment industry.
Rise Up Animation was so incredibly helpful by allowing me to speak with the great Dana Terrace. I got tons of insight on how the industry works and how I can improve my skill to apply to some of my dream jobs.
